FERPA Compliance Statement

Rudder Virt supports educational institutions by providing certain educational services through the Rudder Virt Virtualization Platform. Rudder Virt acknowledges that students and/or institutions may provide Rudder Virt with personally identifiable information (PII). Rudder Virt further acknowledges that to the extent applicable it will be considered a “school official” under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Rudder Virt respects the privacy of individuals and agrees to comply with all applicable provisions of FERPA, and its regulations, 34 CFR Part 99, in collecting and processing PII. Rudder Virt further agrees to comply with the non-disclosure requirements and restrictions on the re-disclosure of PII set forth in FERPA and to use and restrict access to student PII only for the purposes for which it was disclosed and subject to the limitations and restrictions applicable to school officials under FERPA.

  1. Parental Rights to Records:We recognize the right of parents to request their student's volunteer records. However, we require joint requests from a school administrator due to our lack of data on student familial relationships. It ensures that we maintain the privacy and security of the student's data.
  2. Subpoenas or Judicial Orders: Should we receive a subpoena or a judicial order demanding the disclosure of educational records, the related School Partner will be informed before any action is taken, in accordance with §99.31(a)(9).
